Sooo, about a month and a half ago I posted a big poll on the Telltale Games Forums and asked my fans to vote on it. The purpose was to re-orient ourselves and to filter out the projects in which we should invest the most.

Also, the results were influenced by various personal conversations that I had with some fans. We took your advices, your suggestions and we’re bringing to you the list for upcoming projects in 2012.

Let’s dig in!

Ultimate Monkey Island

Hey friends!

Now that we’re done with the Fan Film, I’m glad to let you all know that I’m collaborating with an awesome team of people on the “Ultimate Monkey Island” project. Basically, these guys want to make a motion-comic-type of story that follows (and adjusts) the original script that Spielberg would’ve used to make the Monkey Island Movie so many years ago.

The story will be split up in episodes and the music will be composed by my good friend Albo Abourt! In case you didn’t know, he’s the one who helped us with some EPIC music in the LOTR Parody and the Dr. Who Fan Film (along with Pablo Scalo)!

The project is also being lead by Danilo Puce along with Christian Nannipieri. You can visit their website here.

These cool people asked me to be the narrator for the story. I’m thrilled to be part of this crew and I hope that you guys will like the final result. As far as I know, there will be two versions… one in Italian (which will have a different narrator), the other in English. Wish us luck! I hope my voice won’t scratch your ears too badly. :p

This is just a side project for me, so I won’t add it to the list on the right part of our site, but I will keep you guys updated as soon as I get the updates myself. :)

Finally!! GO GO GO and make sure you comment or let us know what you think!!

Enjoy!!

Michael Melchizedek

For those who are familiar with “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, I’d like to proudly say that my bro, Mihai, played as Melchizedek in one of his highschool’s plays. He was brilliant and so were his classmates. In fact, I think I might ask a few of them to join us in our next project… if they’re not too scared of us, haha!

I wish I had my bro’s acting skills when I was his age ^^

Forgot to thank my “Secret Admirer” for the card I received! ^^ Big hugs! Thanks!

Ending and Credits finished

When you’re working, time flies in mysterious ways. I sat down at my computer around 4 PM… now it’s 1 AM and I have no idea why it’s 1 AM.

Haven’t eaten a lot, but it’s ok… I’ll do that now. Good news is: I managed to finish up the ending for the Doctor Who Tribute. I added the credits and all the good stuff.

All that remains now is the intro and that one last long effect. Half of it actually, because I’m almost done with it. Thank God!

If my calculations are correct, I should be able to finish up the effect tomorrow… then work on the intro for about two days… and then render it all! I’m not saying we’ll launch it in three days so don’t jump around with joy. All I’m saying is that the difficult part is over, finally!

King Modem is on stand-by and he will help us upload it directly onto the site as soon as it’s ready. I was thinking of uploading it to youtube as well but, after testing out a clip, youtube immediately picked up on the music copyright and we would risk losing our account.

Oh well, the important thing is to get it out the door. Thank you SO much for being patient. We hope it will be worth the waiting.

I’m halfway through the last effect. It’s tedious and “we hatez it, precious!” …and I have to be careful here because a bad effect can really mess up a nice scene.

In other news, I might give Kauff a chance tomorrow. Haven’t filmed with him in a long time. :)

Do you guys want Kauff to give any shoutouts?

Good question. I mean, really now. I keep coming here and writing: “Oh hey, I just finished the shot with– …err… just another cool shot for the Tribute!”

It can become frustrating, since the story is so… spoilerable! If I share a single detail, I can actually mess up your entire viewing experience. The next project will definitely focus on a more “sharing” experience.

Well, I figured out how to make an effect that proved to be a problem at one point. Let’s call it Effect A.

I’m currently finishing the work on Effect A… and I’ll be moving on to Effect B which should be a LOT easier to do. I managed to finish the tiny effects (Effect Ab and Abb) yesterday.

…somehow I don’t think naming them like that helps you visualizing the situation any better.

My program started crashing like crazy. The Doctor Who folder/project is currently about 122 Gb in size… so you can guess how much data I have to juggle around carefully, making sure everything is ready for the final render.

In theory, it should prove easier to render than the LOTR Parody project. Practically speaking, the program freezes a lot more since I used some gimmicks to increase the overall quality of the image. All in all, if I can’t render it in one go, I’ll just split the movie in three parts (10 minutes each). I hope that won’t be a problem for you guys.

And I also cooked! Cordon Bleu, one of my bro’s favorites. Oh well, back to work.

Sideburns

Keeping up with this whole “look-like-Tennant” thing is so weird. My sideburns grew back and I will be filming the last missing scenes from the Doctor Who Tribute (10 seconds of footage, no big deal). Just letting you know.

One of our fans gave me a really cool idea a few moments ago and I think you guys will enjoy this. I have to consult with Mihai over it, but I’m fairly certain he’ll agree.

This might turn out to be pretty interesting. At least for you guys :D

Nothing more to report so far. Oh, wait… I finished two effect shots today for DW Tribute. One of them was vital for the story and I think it’s looking quite good. Nothing else to report ^^

Struglend Tales – Now Available for Purchase!

My good friend, Jan Jacob Mekes (aka Haggis) has launched his first book ever. I had the pleasure of reading it and I strongly recommend it to you guys. It’s funny, witty and it will keep you entertained hours on end. (and the best part is: It’s really cheap! only 2.99 USD !)

Follow Edward, the ugliest and probably most haphazard king Struglend has ever had, and his herald Fred, as they go on a quest to restore order to the universe. Well, maybe not the universe, but at least the little piece of land they call home – Struglend. In their journey to remove the evil knight who has invaded the kingdom, they meet several hilarious characters that remind them how good it is to have a semi-sane mind in a crazy, crazy world.
