Mihaela is a huge Doctor Who fan and she can’t wait to start working with us!

The production will feature a cast of 5 to 7 people and will be filmed during the summer of 2012. Since we are trying to make it bigger and better than our first Fan Film, it will surely take longer to prepare. This might be a nice occasion to point to the newcomers that we do have a “Donate” button on the right part of the site, right above our list of free films. If you wanna help us out, we are grateful for every single dollar/euro.

Just to be clear, the Donations will not influence this particular project. We are using the money to buy products that help us make original, free movies for you guys. We are not keeping anything, we are investing in costumes and/or props for various productions and to pay for keeping our site alive. I know it sounds like a disclaimer, but it’s important to state that we are not making any profits out of this and we are not asking anybody to donate. If you donate, it’s of your own accord. And we thank you.

Also, the results were influenced by various personal conversations that I had with some fans. We took your advices, your suggestions and we’re bringing to you the list for upcoming projects in 2012.

It appears that you guys want to laugh. A lot.

After the Doctor Who Fan Film, it would be refreshing to tackle a parody/comedy. Alright.

I was surprised by the fact that you requested more Monkey Island stuff. I’ll see if I can cook up another song of some sorts What was TRULY surprising was the fact that many of you voted “Ponies”.  o.o

I wrote it as a joke… and now I have to tackle my own joke. Brilliant. I love you guys. (notice the lack of exclamation marks that conveys a less than positive emotion towards you).

2. Personal Opinions and Suggestions

We’ve talked to fans… and we got the same personal response: Make funny stuff!

Out of all the poll options, many of them could be combined to make something equally funny and epic… if you add songs to that it becomes a musical, and so on… We’re trying right now to settle the next projects in such a way that you guys will enjoy watching them as much as we enjoy making them.

I also keep receiving a lot of requests to continue Kauff’s story. Alright.

3. Our Own Ideas and Preferences

We have been working on a little project for a few years now and we believe we found the perfect formula that will help us put things in motion. We had a character in our heads that we’ve been tossing around in various combinations and we finally settled the perfect pairing.

As you may notice from our bar on the right, we have several projects that we’re working on right now. You might have noticed stuff appearing and disappearing… we tried stuff, we experimented with other stuff, but now the list should be final.

The Secret Project will be revealed at a later time when we actually have something to show for it. Yes, we started casting people, but it’s far from presentable. It’s very big, hence the mystery of it all. I have no idea what I’m getting myself into. :p

Making of LOTR Parody… it’s going a bit slow. The Dr. Who Fan Film left my PC in a terrible state so I need to format my harddrive and reinstall Windows. I mean, it’s such in a bad shape that I cannot change the date anymore and, even though I defragmented it, it sometimes can take up to 3 minutes to enter a folder. Fun, right? Heh… so, yeah, formatting is a priority.

Ask a Monkeyologist - I have material for 5 episodes (basically, the season finale). Again, due to the bad state in which my PC is, I have to make sure I don’t lose anything while trying to work on it. I know I’m dragging this a lot, but these episodes really are …something else

Sci Fi Series - Not giving up on the project, but you guys asked for something funnier. This project would’ve been a bit darker sooo I’ll go with you guys.

That being said, analyzing and combining characters and stories to obtain the maximum effect, as requested by you, we give you the following projects!

Main Project: Plustard, the Series

Yes, Series. Twelve episodes. Story arcs. All the good stuff.

I know Plustard scored “8″ on the list, but we spiced things up a bit. You asked for parodies and Plustard offered the perfect platform to develop some interesting… situations that we believe might satisfy your requests.

Basically, what you saw we did with the Doctor Who Fan Film, we’re gonna do with Plustard, only funnier. We chose the episodic format due to the fact that some of you had issues with downloading the DW Fan Film. If we make 12 episodes, of 10 minutes each, everybody will be able to see them! ^^

Just a heads up, it might be possible to offer them for a small fee, just so we can cover up our expenses. We hope that’s alright with you.

Sub-Project: Everything related to Kauff!  (and Ponies)

You asked for more Kauff, you’ll get more Kauff!

…you also asked for Ponies… so you’ll get ponies. Rejoice.

We might even combine them… we might make very manly musicals, I dunno. We can confirm that the Season Finale for Ask a Monkeyologist will be better than what you saw so far.

Sea For Two + Music

The most difficult thing about Sea For Two was the fact that we had to get in costume (1 hour), film stuff (2-3 hours), get out of costume (1 hour)… all for a 5 minute clip. Then, you guys voted on the continuation of the story… and we had to do the same thing again next week. It wasn’t really an optimized format.

Therefore, we’ll make Sea For Two related clips that might include songs (Monkey Island?) and other goodies. Same characters, just a different setting. Is that okay?

Secret Project

This one will go unnoticed for the following months. I’ll work on it in the background and let you know whenever we have something to show. Expect funny and simple, not epic and huge.

So that’s it! These are the main focuses for 2012, based on what you asked and what we would like to do! I know it may come as a surprise, the whole Plustard-thing… but would you believe us if we told you that we completely revamped the basic idea? You asked for new characters, you’ll GET new characters… and you’d better hold on to your mustaches.

However, I can’t decide regarding his hat… I used the top hat (version 1) so far because I couldn’t find the rounded-type (version 2). Now I have both…

Disregard the clips you’ve seen with the character so far and just look at him now. Which one fits better? Which one is funnier? Which one would HE actually wear?

Now that we’re done with the Fan Film, I’m glad to let you all know that I’m collaborating with an awesome team of people on the “Ultimate Monkey Island” project. Basically, these guys want to make a motion-comic-type of story that follows (and adjusts) the original script that Spielberg would’ve used to make the Monkey Island Movie so many years ago.

The story will be split up in episodes and the music will be composed by my good friend Albo Abourt! In case you didn’t know, he’s the one who helped us with some EPIC music in the LOTR Parody and the Dr. Who Fan Film (along with Pablo Scalo)!

These cool people asked me to be the narrator for the story. I’m thrilled to be part of this crew and I hope that you guys will like the final result. As far as I know, there will be two versions… one in Italian (which will have a different narrator), the other in English. Wish us luck! I hope my voice won’t scratch your ears too badly. :p

This is just a side project for me, so I won’t add it to the list on the right part of our site, but I will keep you guys updated as soon as I get the updates myself.

The only things missing are the subtitles for the “Second Part” and “Ending 1st Part”. I’ll have these done tonight, after I’ve eaten something. My stomach is on a strike so it won’t let me work. Pfff, food, who needs it? It’s just a distraction. *sigh*

Ending 1st Part – Ending 2nd Part – Final Part

“Ending 2nd Part” was the most difficult and horrendous part to render. Thank God we’ve made it past that! The rest should be a lot easier.

I finally managed to get a blue screen of death today… just so you know how we’re doing. ^^As I said, the trickiest parts are gone now. The only thing that keeps bugging me are the subtitles. I promised many people to add English subtitles and I want to keep that promise. I’m embedding them in the movie itself.

The difficult part is that many people asked for Romanian Subtitles too.  -_-  *sigh*

I guess I have no choice, do I? Twice the render…

But don’t worry, as soon as I nailed the English-subtitles version, it will be out the door. THAT is top priority! Now I’m going back to sleep… It’s 3 AM and in 7 hours I need to wake up and work on it some more.
