Michael Melchizedek

For those who are familiar with “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, I’d like to proudly say that my bro, Mihai, played as Melchizedek in one of his highschool’s plays. He was brilliant and so were his classmates. In fact, I think I might ask a few of them to join us in our next project… if they’re not too scared of us, haha!

I wish I had my bro’s acting skills when I was his age ^^

Forgot to thank my “Secret Admirer” for the card I received! ^^ Big hugs! Thanks!

I ran out of space completely. I started deleting games to make some room. This is crazy.

My harddisk is badly fragmented so I’m defrag-ing it now. The good news is that the most difficult parts to render seem to be rendering quite well. I’m sorry it’s taking a bit longer than expected. I almost fell asleep on my chair last night… so I caught a few more hours of sleep in my bed. At least, I THINK it was my bed.

I also tested out the “rendering-all-together” theory and it seems to be working. Even so, I’m juggling Gigabytes here like there’s no tomorrow… so keep your fingers crossed for me.

So far, I managed to split the project into eight uneven chunks

(BLUE – rendered, RED – still working on it)

IntroFirst PartSecond PartMiddle - Third Part

Ending 1st PartEnding 2nd PartFinal Part

I know this looks like I’ve done nothing since last night, but it takes a lot to polish it and make it look perfect. Right now I’ll be rendering “Ending 2nd Part” and move on to the “Final Part”. After getting Mihai’s “OK”, I’ll finish up the rest. ^^

Quick note

Just keeping you guys updated. I’ve slept for… about… 4 hours. Then hopped back to work.

I’ve rendered half of it… no problems so far. Let’s hope it stays that way! I’ve added english subtitles. The editor is kind of messing with the contrast a little but that goes beyond my control, since everything seems to be falling apart here. It’s not noticeable (I hope), but if you do spot some contrast issues in some scenes, I apologize in advance. I’m just focusing on getting it out to the best of my (and my PC’s) abilities.

It’s 11:24 PM. I’m taking a small break, east something… then finish this up. Wish me luck!!

YES! It’s 6 AM but I bloody made it! The intro is complete!

I actually started rendering. The project is so huge, I have to split it up and render one minute at a time… then, at the end, I’ll tie them all together. In theory, it should work.

Finally, I can focus on rendering alone. There are a few tiny shots that need one or two color corrections, but I can do that as I render them bit by bit. I don’t have an estimate right now, but it shouldn’t take too long… a day or two. I already started rendering so don’t worry, it’s coming along ^^

I’ll probably be gone for a day or so… rendering doesn’t really allow me to use the web browser. See you later!

May all of you awesome people have a cool and loving St. Valentine’s Day! Cheers! :D

In other news, why oh why couldn’t Doctor Who have a simple intro? Like… walking on a field! Or… throwing rocks into a lake! This vortex thing is so complicated to reproduce! Especially since I work in two dimensions.

…I really must learn to think fourth dimensionally!

Here’s a glimpse of what it looks like so far. It’s the intro, so no spoilers there.

I know it’s not nearly as good as it should be… but at least it’s better than stick figures ^^

Last effect done

Onto the intro now! Things are looking good :)

When you’re working, time flies in mysterious ways. I sat down at my computer around 4 PM… now it’s 1 AM and I have no idea why it’s 1 AM.

Haven’t eaten a lot, but it’s ok… I’ll do that now. Good news is: I managed to finish up the ending for the Doctor Who Tribute. I added the credits and all the good stuff.

All that remains now is the intro and that one last long effect. Half of it actually, because I’m almost done with it. Thank God!

If my calculations are correct, I should be able to finish up the effect tomorrow… then work on the intro for about two days… and then render it all! I’m not saying we’ll launch it in three days so don’t jump around with joy. All I’m saying is that the difficult part is over, finally!

King Modem is on stand-by and he will help us upload it directly onto the site as soon as it’s ready. I was thinking of uploading it to youtube as well but, after testing out a clip, youtube immediately picked up on the music copyright and we would risk losing our account.

Oh well, the important thing is to get it out the door. Thank you SO much for being patient. We hope it will be worth the waiting.

I’m halfway through the last effect. It’s tedious and “we hatez it, precious!” …and I have to be careful here because a bad effect can really mess up a nice scene.

In other news, I might give Kauff a chance tomorrow. Haven’t filmed with him in a long time. :)

Do you guys want Kauff to give any shoutouts?

King Modem strikes again!

Sort of… I talked with Cristi and he will be joining us in our next project! Woohoo! :D

“What project?” you might ask. Well, not telling you yet. Let’s finish Doctor Who first and we’ll talk about the rest later.

I’m really happy to be able to gather part of the crew again and go on another epic journey together! Speaking of epic journeys, I finally managed to finalize that blasted special effect the haunted my dreams lately. Now I just need to finish up the last effect (simple stuff, might do it tonight) and then just clear the intro and the ending! :D

Happy days!
